Uterine fibroids, are usually none cancerous growths in the uterus. We are unsure what causes them, although studies have shown that hormones (estrogen and progesterone) play a role in their growth.
Fibroids, may stay small and not cause a woman any problems. Other times, they can grow and cause pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, infertility and heavy menstrual cycles.
